Hunter Lands Wheels Up At Exeter

Wed May 23, 2007 4:11 am

Word has got through that one of the Hunters has landed with one of it's wheels up... Closed for a while as the First Choice 757 or A320 was circling overhead for a while....

Anyone else know anything? I will post more when I know...

It turns out it actually happened on departure from 08, pilot aborted and deployed chute and went off to the left... Will try to find out which airframe.

Another lie! Was actually on departure from 26, one of our instructors was sat at 'C' waiting to depart and apparently as the Hunter rotated, there was a lot of smoke from the right wheel and the pilot throttled back, the plane veered right and a fuel tank came loose and ended up on the edge of the runway. The pilot deployed the chute in an attempt to slow down but couldn't stop the aircraft leaving the runway.
