Mystery Plane Landing At DCA Today

Wed May 23, 2007 4:26 am

A white 737, with wingtips and gray striping, going from dark on the bottom to light on the top, on the top of the tail, landed at DCA at approximately 3:09pm EDT today.

I checked Flight Aware, and the closest arrival to that time was a US 737-400 from MCO. But the time was off several minutes.

Any ideas?

Not all flights are tracked on Flightaware. If the owner requests that their flight information be restricted it will not show up. Most private large jet owners will do that. It sounds to me like this plane...

Sounds like a government plane, likely by agencies that prefer to keep quiet.

No, it wasn't that one, but it was close. The tail scheme was different.

That's my guess too, but I thought it could be somebody's plane about to get re-painted or something.

The government's "private" air force, operated by contract to other firms is quite large nowadays.

This aircraft could have been operated by any number of agencies wanting to keep their activities secret, or, by some big shot in town to further grease the wheels of the Republic in his favor.

The Colombian vice-president started a 3 day visit to Washington today.
Could your mystery plane be this one:
