I currently live at a place in North London, N5. Right next to the Emirates Stadium, if that helps.
[maps.google.com, search "n5 1aw to heathrow airport"]
I'm on the flightpath out of Heathrow; according to one of the neighbors who has been here long enough that I trust him.
Per Google maps, I'm 24.0 miles from LHR, door to door, so obviously less, in a straight line, or as the crow flies.
From what I can guess, flights headed my way are probably bound for anywhere East of the Netherlands and Norway (I see heavies too).
Sometimes I can just about make out liveries; other times they are just a bit too high/far.
My question, as per the title; how can I work put what is flying above me? I'm thinking to match it to LHR Arrival/Departure boards, but how long should I add for them to get to me? Is there a program/site that lets me track flights in the London area?
I can provide more info if needed. I'm fed up of lying in bed or looking out the window and thinking "what's that" or "where are they going!"
