More AA Eagle Carib P2P

Thu May 24, 2007 8:16 pm

American Eagle will begin SLU-BGI service on 9/5. Schedules will be loaded into Sabre this weekend.

If the Proposed routes from SDQ (CUR, PAP, CCS) actually begin this would be a lot of non SJU P2P service in the Caribbean. It looks like Eagle is trying to develop flying in the region beyond being a connector at SJU.

What could be next? STT-STX, SDQ-STT, AUA-CUR, SXM-CUR??

Wow I didn't think the BGI Gov't would have given approval!!

I suppose CUR-SXM could work if flown like SJU-SXM-CUR-SJU and SJU-CUR-SXM-SJU. I think there would be quite some compeititon on the route though!!

From what I remember reading AE was in talking with a few of the CARICOM Governments including T&T, I believe they want to link UVF, BGI and POS. (Sorry can't remember where I have read it but I will scour the local newspapers to see if I can find it!)

Good news for the region though, would be nice to see some ATRs as opposed to the ever present Dash8s flying around!!

Inter-island flights on American Eagle - they are certainly muscling in on the Islands given the merger of LI and 8B and the shrinking of BW, which together have reduced the number of services linking the Islands. The POS - BGI route (which AA operated in the past) would be very lucrative if it got rights to operate on it - currently there is only 1 BW flight daily (the KIN service) plus several stopping flights by LI (GND, SVD, TAB etc.). All in all it will be interesting to see how they fare.
