Ethiopian To Start Abu Dhabi

Thu May 24, 2007 10:31 pm

Amadeus is showing that ET will start serving Abu Dhabi in a triagle service with Bahrain starting in July. They are really making a push with the Gulf, with double-daily DXB, and now service to ABU and BAH.

Does it make sense to serve all 3. Bahrain maybee, but Abu Dhabi is an hour away from DXB, how much traffic could it possible have?

I'm sure ET used to serve AUH in the past....I recall seeing an ET 757 at AUH back in 1986...so this is a resumption of service for them I guess.... smile

ET did serve AUH in the past, but they did not have 757's in 1986. The 757's arrived in the early '90 and I don't know when ET served AUH

I didn't think BAH could warrant a dedicated service, this triangle is the best way to go. I would have suspected Muscat, but Abu Dhabi is a big enough market in spite of nearby DXB.

Hi DKNy

I think ET operated to AUH up until 1997 if I'm not mistaken...

Cheers!

ET served both Abu Dhabi and Bahrain before. During the 80s, B720 and then B727 and B767 were used.
