Strange LH Arrival Time Change

Fri May 25, 2007 3:53 am

A friend of mine is flying to Beijing on LH from FRA on Saturday. However, he got an e-mail last week, in which it said his flight would be arriving 2 hours earlier (05.30) instead of 08.30, although the departure time has not changed.

What has made the flight suddenly arrive 2 hours faster? This is very odd. Could this also have been a typo?
The flight number is LH393.

Thanks

Just a quick correction: The new arrival time is stated as 06:30 and not 05.30.

Anyhow, the 2 hour time change still doesn't make sense.

(Sorry for the typo)

Quoting DeltaWings (Thread starter):
The flight number is LH393.

This flight, LH393, is FDH-FRA! Do you mean LH720?

There are no scheduled stops on this flight. Also, a one.hour reduction due to the deletion of a widebody stopover would mean that the ground time of the proposed stopover would have been unrealistically short.

I know that enroute there are very strong west winds, but two hours are too much.

Maybe it is just that the Chinese have a clock change that night?

Very funny, but I don't think that's the real reason.

Those two hours are definately mysterious

It can't possibly arrive 2 hours earlier unless the departure time from FRA is also changed. Neither China nor Germany have any time changes this time of year, and China stays on the same time all year (and the entire country only has one time zone, the same as Beijing).

Are you sure the passenger hasn't been rebooked on the LH codeshare flight operated by Air China? It arrives PEK at 0620 but leaves FRA at 1450.

I would call LH and ask them to explain the e-mail.
