Special Delta Visitor To DFW

Tue May 29, 2007 2:20 am

Looks like DFW is getting a special visitor from Delta/ATL this thursday.

From what is being said, Delta COO Jim Whitehurst is coming to DFW to meet
with the local media and employees here this thursday. Maybe DFW will get to
see the new livery...and hear how we are doing here in DFW.

Anyhow, it will be good to see Jim here at our great station!

Let the rumors begin.  Smile

At a lot of carriers a visit like usually meant trouble...I know DFW DL has had a rough few years so I hope that is not it.

Well, if ship 621 (B757) has the new livery...this will be DFW's first viewing of it.

Get the camera's out...DL471 e.t.a 13:49 local time on Thursday/31st.

As much as I would love this...enough gate space to operate even a minihub would be hard to come by unless they reopened the satellite.

Yes... A GREAT Station... I love flying a DL flight operated by a contract airline. Giving my bags to the ONE DL employee I have a chance of seeing that day, only to watch it handed off and handled by another contract company....

Truly you are working miracles!

Kinda what I was thinking... What about a ASA or Comair minihub at the satellite..? Might make sense... Or it might be the normal BAD news for the DFW DL employee base... who knows..?

Not a chance. Probably just a station visit to talk with the troops and boost morale. He's excellent in that category.

Definitely not. DL couldn't efficiently fill their RJs at DFW when they had an actual hub there. A MINI-hub with RJs, that would bleed money nonstop.

It was a town hall meeting with Reservations and only Reservations... It apparently was full of "at-a-boy's" and DFW is a perfect size for DL right now... Nothing big... Kinda of a let down... but also kinda what I thought it would be...

Very true. DL tried to play hardball with AA and lost. Simple as that. Once DL left AA took the routes DL had and filled their planes to those places.

Anybody else remember when DL was larger than AA at DFW? 747's and Tristars to the coast. Steak and Champage for breakfast. Believe in 1974 AA was the #3 carrier at DFW.
