Didin't see LGA-MSP coming, but I knew it was inevitable that JFK-ORD became mainline. With LGA-MSP, this will certainly not make NW happy at all. This could become a bloodbath.

This has been known for awhile. There is at least one thread on new Eagle routes.

They didn't do too much when AE entered the DTW-NYC market. I'm not so sure we'll see a whole lot of retaliation. There is room for more capacity to MSP, so AA shouldn't have trouble filling the flights (with their large FF base on the NY end, and a good chunk in MN).

For some reason, NW doesn't seem to perturbed by WN's presence in Detroit, but if anyone in the state of Minnesota even mentions the name "Southwest", NW gets hysterical - "Northwest IS Minnesota's Airline" a voice booms.

Kind of the same for AA at DFW - competition is ruthlessly slaughtered, but at ORD there's healthy competition.

As someone pointed out to me in the above-mentioned earlier thread, AA thinks they have enough O&D passengers in the New York area to fill three M80's per day. Not much NW can do if that many AAdvantage members aren't switching to SkyTeam.

That's four airlines flying NYC-MSP (CO, NW, SY, & AA).

It's either a great expansion of an up and coming market, or the prelude to "We who are about to die salute you!!"

Well I'd like to see how the load factors are to ROW.

What are the chances of Eagle coming into AVL? We'd love to have ORD service!

Does anyone know when the pilots union contract comes up that currently limits Eagle flying and 70 seaters? Would be nice to see Eagle get some more planes and 70 seaters to expand to new cities and maybe upgrade some 50 seaters.
