Qatar Airways To Start NYC & IAD

Thu May 31, 2007 9:05 pm

New York was previously announced but this is the first time I've heard of D.C.

CHICAGO (Dow Jones)--Qatar Airways, the state-owned carrier that's been growing at 35% per year, this summer will begin service between Doha, the Qatari capital, and New York and Washington, its first destinations in the Americas.

The 10-year-old airline will fly nonstop to Washington and offer one-stop service via Geneva for New York passengers, Peter Spencer, Qatar's head of operations for the Americas, said in an interview.

I wish it was JFK. I'd love to see those beautiful birds when I go to/from work.

What equipment will they use? Could it be 332 for a start as seen here in IAD:

No, IAD will be daily A346 as EWR will be 4 times a week with a A332 via GVA.  Smile
