FedEx Flights To CDG?

Sat Jun 02, 2007 12:01 pm

I know the FX have hubs in MEM, EWR and IND- do they fly direct to CDG from these 3 airports?- and are there any other airports that are gateways to their CDG hub in Europe? ANC naybe?

Thanks- Bruce.

If they fly to CDG from anywhere, it would be their home base of Memphis. It is doubtful that any of the other two airports mentioned would have those flights.

Actually I would bet they fly into IND because they have a big international processing facility there as well as MEM.

I realize that, which that is a good point, but I think it would still come from MEM.

I could be very wrong though, so don't quote me on that.

I personally jump seated on the IND to CDG flight. I recall the aircraft being an MD-11 and then an Airbus A300 on the return flight. I believe CDG goes to EWR, IND, and MEM/ I could be wrong about EWR.

I think that you'll find that FedEx does fly to CDG from MEM, IND, and EWR. The information isn't that difficult to find.

Fedex has 2 daily flights from MEM (MD11), 1 daily from IND (MD11) and one daily from EWR (MD11) !!
FX has a very big activity at their CDG hub, lots of MD11, A300, A310...

Nice, I learn something everyday then I suppose. And I didn't have that much time to look for it, so thanks for that as well.

Airbus A300

Are you sure it was CDG-IND? Wasn't it another part of your trip, with the bus? Or it was maybe a ferry flt, because FX operates only MDDs on transatlantics.

About long distances, CDG is connected with the hub in Subic, China via ALA, BOM, DEL and DXB

Thanks- do you know what times the arrivals and departures are to/from CDG, or the flight numbers? Where would I find this information, other than trolling through flightaware?

Thanks- interesting information. I just read about CDG in the latest Airports magazine, it sure looks like a cool airport.

Observe the "," between Subic and "China via ALA"

CDG is actually the FX hub in Europe, with lots of activity, as has been mentioned before.

If you going to ignore the coma, are you wondering about Subic Bombay and Subic Delhi and a long favorite of mine Subic Dubai?

As PanHAM noticed, I took the time to put a "," between Subic and China. The only reason I said China instead of an airport code is that I do not remember the origin of the Chinese flt (PVG or HKG?) Both flts arrive in ALA; they swap a few pallets, then one continues to CDG, and the other to Germany.
But anyway, within a few years, the Subic flt will no longer exits, since FX hub will be in China....  bigthumbsup

I was under the impression that CDG was strictly MD-11 and A310. When did A300s start operating there ?

Neither, CAN is the code you want.

Info from FX on the CDG hub
More on the Asian Flts
Keep in mind that Article is 5 years old.

Quote:
For the Hong Kong-Almaty-Paris flight, FedEx Express will utilize an existing MD-11 that served Dubai and Bombay from the company's Asia Pacific hub in Subic Bay, the Philippines, to its European hub at Charles DeGaulle Airport. The company will add an Airbus A310 that will operate round trip from Dubai to Bombay and connect four times a week to an existing Dubai-Paris flight.

Anyone know what happened to the proposed intermodal service b/w FX and the TGV trains? Also, FX used to have 727s based at CDG. Are they still there? {photoid:0207283}

FedEx EuroOne services:
CDG-CGN-STR-CGN-CDG
CDG-TLS-BCN-CDG

CDG-MUC-VIE-MUC-CDG

Other locations probably with a link of sorts to CDG:
THF, BOH, FRA, HAM, PSA, SEN (based off of where These ATRs sit
Probable CDG A310 Service:
ARN, BSL, DXB, DUS, FRA, LIS, STN, MAD, MAD, MXP, MUC, TLV (Again, Unique entries in A.net database used)
There is probably more, and I'm betting not all these routes are on A310s and MD11s, but it gives you a better idea as to how important CDG is to FX.

ConcordeBoy,

Did you seriously think he thought Subic was in China or did you want to be quick to point out a "poorly constructed" sentence? I think most if not all readers know what he meant," hence the question."

Where did you see CAN? Your information about the FX flts is very good.
About ALA: it has been a fuel stop only on the HKG-CDG for almost 1 year , as per your links. Then, FX started a flt from PVG to Europe. Both wait for each other in ALA, swap a few pallets and containers, then one comes to CDG, the second to FRA.

About the Airbus: DUS is not a scheduled service (for the one you saw, was it a diversion? a charter?)
In LIS, they do only maintenance.
On your list, you can add ATH

About the TGV, Fx has joined a group called CAREX, to study and promote the project. They have now received support from the EU (including money).
Sorry, only in French:
http://www.valdoise.fr/content/heading3379/content326670.html
http://www.valdoise.fr/content/print/content326609.html
(will probably be ready around 2012; trains operated by a new company, not the SNCF; the trains will not be for a single company; they will be shared by the CAREX members)

ConcordeBoy, thank you for pointing my

What is the best way to build my sentence? That will be more constructive than saying it is not clear.
And I sincerely hope I am not the only one getting the benefits of your English lessons. (Some members who have English as native language really need your help....  rotfl  )

The list was more of what I could find in 20 mins. I just looked at the database and was like "hey FX has sent an Airbus there so maybe. I'll let someone else work on the details." Thanks for the updates to the map and the updates about TGV "interlining" service.

Note: France is 1/2 that list.

Quoting Teva (Reply 19):

"...Subic Bay and Guangzhou." F.Y.I. CAN is Guangzhou, and FX is moving their Subic Bay operations there in Dec 08, IIRC. Source Both 5X and FX plan on having a nice presence in China, and 5X is planning, if not have already established, a hub in Shanghai.
Obviously, FX's CAN service will be the hub for the AsiaOne network.
Make this map have CAN as its center, and you have an idea of what Dec 08 will look like.

Not sure if these have been served in the past, but SEN and BOH aren't currently part of the Fed Ex network. SEN currently has no scheduled freight flights AFAIK, while all BOH freight flights are domestic, mainly to the Channel Islands
