As most of you know, Trans States flies the E145's for both AA (American Connection) and UA (United Express). Today our station had an interesting situation. Our STL Connection kickoff was dinged with a 1 hour crew delay, even though the crew and aircraft arrived from STL right on time the previous evening. In the past the inbound crew overnights and takes the same aircraft back to STL in the AM. Today, we were informed by Trans States dispatch our "legal" crew had been reassigned to fly a trip on the United Express side to keep it on-time at the expense of the AA/Connection. We've never encountered them doing this before, and to our knowledge they were not able to swap in this way--even though THEY'RE 1 company, UA and AA are NOT.
As it turned out, the 1 hour delay kept creeping and became an almost 3 hour delay since TS couldn't get their act together and figure out the crew situation.....OYE!!
Any insight/comments appreciated.
