Just a question, how come airlines in India are ending up only ordering regional aircraft from ATR (-42 or -72) and Embraer (170 or 175) instead of Bombardier CRJ or Q-series? Paramount Airways is reported to add more Embraer jets to there current fleet. Indian Airlines, Kingfisher Airlines, Jet Airways, Air Deccan and Alliance Air have all gone with ATR aircraft. Air Sahara is the only indian carrier to go with CRJ and I maybe wrong but these are leased aircraft or bought used from another carrier. Will Jet Airways keep the CRJ's in the Air Shara fleet?
I'm wondering why Bombardier regional aircraft (CRJ200/CRJ700,CRJ900,CRJ1000/Q200/Q300/Q400) haven't been picked up by some airlines in India when there is a need for regional aircraft in India. I think the CRJ700 and Q400 would do great on some routes within India along with the CRJ1000.
Is it possible for SpiceJet, IndiGO or Go Air who have not yet ordered regional aircraft to order these Bombardier these aicraft?
