There are rumors flying around that Santa Barbara Airlines is acquiring some used MD-80s that will replace the 757 which currently flies the CCS-MIA and CCS- Quito - Guayaquil routes. These will also be used to resume service to Lima and new service to Bogota replacing Aeropostal once it withdraws from the market this month.
I really think this is a good decision. This is strategically done to provide more feed for its European routes to Madrid and Tenerife where there is a lot of demand to these three countries. Santa Barbara specializes in the Ethnic-Northern South American market both from Europe and Miami that has been crucial to the development of transatlantic routes to the continent.
