Wizzair New Route - Luton To Tirgu Mures (Romania)

Fri Jun 08, 2007 7:23 am

Wizzair has continued to to grow their flights from London Luton to Eastern Europe and today annouced they will launch flights to Tirgu Mures in Romania.

These will start from the end of October and will operate three times weekly.

If the flights turn out to be as successful as the Luton to Bucharest flights which started off as three times weekly and from this summer will increase to eight times weekly.

Considering Luton does not actually have any Wizzair aircraft or crew based at the airport, but they have done very well with many of the flights operating W routes! This now mean they fly to 12 destinations from Luton and will be up to 76 flights a week.

Destinations Wizzair Service from Luton:

Ljubljana
Zagreb
Split
Sofia
Bourgas
Bucharest
Tirgu Mures
Budapest
Katowice
Poznan
Warsaw
Gdansk

Good news indeed, especially for those Romanians from western part of the country, who had to go all the way to BUD or BUH to get a cheaper flight.
W6 is going to start also BBU - LPL, a welcoming news for passengers living in central UK.

Tirgu Mures is located in central Romania, Transylvania that is. Not really an easy commute to reach there by train or car coming from Western Romania.

Since there’s virtually no low-cost flights to and from Western Romania (except perhaps Blue Air scarcely operating a couple of destinations out of Arad), most likely that the low-cost exodus from Timisoara, Arad, Oradea, Satu Mare, Baia Mare will continue - as a sweet and pleasing music to Wizz’s ears, patiently waiting for them in Budapest.

Good opportunity for the Brits though to get a bloody cheap beer on Dracula’s domain on weekends  yes
