Mexican budget airline Click, a unit of Mexicana, plans to stick with its current fleet of Fokker 100 jets even as it adds seven new routes this year, a top company official said Tuesday.

"One of the keys to a low-cost operation is having a homogenous fleet. At the moment we are operating 17 Fokker aircraft and our plans in the short and medium term are to continue with that fleet," said Isaac Volin, Click chief executive, at a press conference.

The company is always looking at options to expand its fleet, but "at this time no decision has been made in that respect," he added.

nothing on adding additional Fokker 100's. Wouldn't they add more, up to 6, exTAM Fokker 100 this year? They recently got the first one from TAM. Has it been reregistered yet?

That's ex-PT-MRX. If so it must have happened just recently, database entries don't show a Mexican reg yet. Four more ex-American aircraft will join the fleet this year.

Nothing's worse than flying the same reg twice!

The Fokker is a good airplane, I'm sure they can another 4-5 years out of them easily. I think they are also fairly economic to operate, the problem is when it comes to maintenance due to lack of some spare parts, I hear they are expensive.

XA-TCP got it rejected the first shot about 1 week ago.

That´s why MX left them, also to go for the entire Airbus fleet in the 1 aile segment, also there where plans for some airbus for click, rumours pointed for the A318, but they may look for the A319.

I think its going to be a few years before MX thinks of replacing Click's fleet. Their next airplane order would probably be solely for MX.
