VY6101 With Half The Plane Cordoned

Mon Jun 11, 2007 9:05 pm

Check this out! (only in spanish)......

VY6101 LIS-MAD took off with half the plane (left side) blocked with tape due to "safety issues with a door"..........what surprises me the most is that there were quite a riot to get the available seats and people who didn't board were very angry.......personally I would've not flown on a plane in that conditions.

This is normal practise when a door or slide is not functioning.

Depending on the door or window exit, certain seats must be blocked off and not occupied.

The alternatives would be to delay or cancel the flight pending repair. If the proposed load will allow, to block off seats is normal procedure.

Although I have never seen it personally, I always assumed the seats could be occupied during cruise, and were just blocked off for take off and landing. It would appear that is not the case.
Just because I stopped arguing, doesn't mean I think you are right. It just means I gave up!
