She showed up in front of the paint shop on Wednesday or Thursday. There is some debate as to whether the VC-25 28000 is still in the 747 paint bay and as such if she was painted at PAE or went somewhere else to have the work done.

A 744 (BOE632) did leave PAE today for MWH, so I wonder if she was it. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BOE632

I did see a 773ER (BOE552) depart for MWH, as well. I think it was AF's latest bird, but it was unpainted except for the rudder, which looked white with stripes (she was over a mile away so it was a bit hard to make out).

UPS was painted at PAE

Is 28000 still in the 747 paint hangar or is she back in service? I suppose you could shoehorn a 747 into the 777 paint hangar, but...

She looks great. UPS ordered 8 B-747-400Fs, IIRC. Is the registration number N570UP?

In addition to 3 second hand from Cargolux, and two passenger conversions for a total of 13. The first one is N570UP.

That looks so quality in the new UPS paint. Pitty the old -100s aren't getting the treatment.

This aircraft is about 10 years too late for the UPS fleet however the addition is much welcomed.

The curious thing is that in recent days, BOE632 has been flying a lot to MWH and PDX out of PAE. No flights to NGO, CHS, Italy or the UK to name a few examples. So, has LCF2 gotten a new callsign?

I respectfully disagree. Take another look. Unless there is some optical illusion going on, it deffinetly looks different. The one frame appears to not line up with the centerline of the aircraft.

It must be an optical illusion, but I still think they look exactly the same (unless there's a flaw in the windows, which pre-delivery inspections by Boeing and 5X would have detected at this stage).

Are you forgetting that Emirates B773 A6-ECB is also testing with the same callsign? The LCF hasn't been to PDX at all, that was the B773 for paint. The LCF is still using the same callsign.

Er, not a right lot! I don't follow the LCF movements so couldn't really tell you what it's being doing at MWH, IDA and GTF. MWH is often used for Boeing test flights though.

Maybe the 787 project have got all the bits they need for now, hence why it's (seemingly) not been carting any bits about.  confused

Unlikely. Components for the second 787 are following right on the heels of LN0001, and some are already on the floor at PAE. There will be constant activity with 787 component delivery from now until the program is concluded.

She's been sitting at PAE since she dropped off her parts a few weeks ago. She hasn't moved from her spot on the tarmac since, as I drive by her every morning and evening M-F.

Now that it's been certified, expect flying to be cut quite a bit until they really need them both in the air constantly. Right now, it's still SLOW going on the 787 front.

Yes. She was towed this morning from in front of the paint shop to the far end of the flight-line.

And yes, it does look like the forward windscreen is in four parts on the 5X bird rather then two like on the JL Cargo bird. I wish she was still in front of the paint-shop as I could have looked at her nose-on on the drive home.

If you look really close, you will see the UPS bird is in front of a grey background
where the window post is,it makes it appear to be larger than it is, but its the same.

I don't know if it is an illusion as such, much less a flaw in the windshield. The forward windshields on the 747 are curved in one dimension only, thus when light shines upon it, you got a reflection in the form of a line, such as below.

One of the Dreamlifters came into PDX a couple weeks ago. As for BOE632 it was also temporarily assigned to the Emirates 777-300ER that flew down to PDX for painting. I know because I tracked it and went over to the ramp to see it. Could be another 777 down to PDX was using 632 in addition to the dreamlifter.
