Confirmation Of MH 744 Lease To SQ

Wed Jun 13, 2007 12:13 am

Recently discussed and now finally confirmed!

9M-MPE and 9M-MPC will both go to SQ they are already in Subang in a white scheme.

These planes will be painted in full SQ colours and will first be sold to a leasing company and then leased to SQ!

FYI both of these planes have rencently been reconfigured with the new F and C class seats from MH

Sadly i do not know yet if they will recieve SQ interior or not..

What for? SQ has many B 747-400s themselves and they have decommissioned many of them over the past few years.

Will they fly for MH again after the lease? Are they in service now?

What's up with 9M-MPK (Johor Bahru) and 9M-MPM (Melaka) now?

Nope not in service, like said they are in Subang now painted up white ready to get into SQ colours!

These planes will be sold to the leasing company and then leased to SQ. It is 100% sure that they will not go back to MH.

9M-MPK and 9M-MPM are also both up for sale!

Soon the MH fleet will only have 11 744's left. This is a good step in getting rid of that extra capacity..  Smile

You have the source for this? Interesting........

What about 9M-MPG?

At peak how many B 747-400s they had? I mean including the 2 combis and the ones sold to Qantas

And usually they fly the B 747-400 to HKG around this time. Wonder when will they do it for this year

Yup MPG is leaving aswell!

That makes it 5 aircraft all owned by PMB that will remain out of service and then eventually be sold over the next year.
As a start that is MPE and MPC to SQ.

My source is a Mech in Subang who is currently working both planes

I just know the fleet will end to be 11 by 2008..dont know how many the had in total including the two GE ones...

I suppose they had 17 at peak since they took delivery of a number of B 747-400s after the combis have withdrawn from service and 2 GEs were sold to Qantas

So will these aircraft be used on the SIN-AKL SQ285/286 route or others aswell? Most likely Asian routes since AKL-SIN can be operated by 1 aircraft day in day out.
