Thai Trip Help Please?

Tue Jun 19, 2007 9:44 pm

Hi chaps,

Am arriving late (7pm) into BKK on 5th July and need to get down to Krabi the same night - are there any flights late on?

If not, what is the best priced airport hotel?

Also - is it just TG that flies BKK-Krabi, and if not what are the options? Any chance to get on a very old One-Two-Go 747 Classic?
What do you mean you dont have any bourbon? Do you know how far it is to Houston? What kind of airline is this???

According to OAG the last flight is TG at 18.55. unless there are any LCCs that don't appear in OAG that operate the route, it'll be the next day for you I'm afraid.

Arse. If i'd have gone from LGW and not bothered with having to try the new QR A346 i'd have gotten the earlier flight into BKK - devo.

Ho hum. TG the next morning it is then. A306 both ways - this trip is going to be Airbus-tastic!

Thai Air Asia also has three cheap flights a day to Krabi (733) but unfortunately also all before 18hrs.
One-Two-Go almost always do their domestic flights with the increasing MD-80 fleet. The 747s mainly go to Hong Kong, Korea etc. and for rare domestic bulk transport during Thai New Year etc. but you should expect an MD-80 in 99% of the cases.
Also Nok Air fly to Krabi.
Be very careful were the low costs depart. Don Muang (One two go) is the old airport... calculate at least 2 hours and 600 baht for the taxi ride from the new airport (Suvarnabhumbi or so) to there. The low cost airlines usually fly from there, so maybe better take Thai Airways. Air Asia also still seems to fly from Suv/BKK but please get yourself confirmed on that.
All their websites are pretty good and bookable with western Creditcards
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

The LCCs also go earlier than 19:00 as well. In addition they go from NKK not BKK (ie Don Muang).

That is certainly not a transfer I'd like to do if it was even slightly close, Bangkok traffic can be a nightmare.

You may as well stay in BKK, enjoy Soi Cowboy Big grin

I wouldn't bother with Novotel Suvarnabhumi/Novotel Bangna/Louis Tavern (airside), go to town, enjoy the night and fly the next afternoon.
