Questions About US At ZRH

Wed Jun 20, 2007 2:31 am

I was at ZRH Terminal 2 the other day and noticed that US uses Terminal 2 for its check-in and ticketing facilities, whereas pretty much all other Star Alliance carriers have been centralized with LX in Terminal 1....also it seems that US has its own ticketing counters in Terminal 2 whereas even UA (in Terminal 1) does not have any standalone counters...in fact, UA's presence in ZRH is downright minimal (haven't even seen any employees in UA uniforms..)

Does anyone know why this is the case? No space in Terminal 1? Also, does US have any of its own employees in ZRH or are they all sub-contracted to either Swissport or Jet Aviation?

I think that it is partially the extra check in hassle that the US carriers need but mainly a shortage of space in check in 1.

In fact SQ and TG are in check in 2 as well IIRC.
