Alaska Airlines In The News (AGAIN!)

Tue Aug 08, 2000 9:13 pm

This time it really isn't their fault or own doing...

Just read this article from todays Anchorage Daily News.
It tells the story better then I can.

The Alaska Attendants did an excellent job of keeping cool under the pressure. That is true professionalism.

What I am really wondering is if anybody on the aircraft would have taken the third meal choice.

Something like this happened once with SAS DC8, flying, as far as I remember, from Africa... and that snake was a REAL one! It was killed by a crew member. I've read about it in "DC8 - Great Airliners, No 2" book.

Not too long ago we had a monkey on board an F28. It was supposed to be a routine 'familiarization' flight for the animal, as it was training as a service animal. Instead shortly after takeoff the monkey literally went nuts, somehow got out of its leash/harness and raced around the cabin (full flight of course).

If that wasn't enough, monkeys apparently have the habit of urinating and defecating (sp) repeatedly when upset!

Can't remember if the plane returned or if they managed to confine the animal.

Duane,

Maybe they were bringing the rodent eating snake to us to track down the mouse we had in an F-28 a few weeks back!
