Swedish media claim it belongs to PTM Air, they also claim Russian citizens onboard.

Local press is informing about 3 Czech citizens on board as well. Hope for the best possible scenario that plane has landed safely somewhere on the route

Could it be one of these?

Oh my god!!! I flew this very route, same airline and same aircraft JUST TWO WEEKS AGO (to the day - probably to the hour). I was going to post the trip report up this weekend!!!

Does anyone know the rego of the plane? (They have a couple of AN-24s). I flew on XU-U4A

AUSSIE
I expected to make that flight in October. So, I don't know yet if PMT will stop it or not after this crash.....
Could you tell me if it's still possible to fly with Y-7 (Chineese An-24) on domestic flights (Royal Phnom Penh Airlines.....).
Thanks

About half of victims are Korean, very sad news to me. They were traveling Cambodia as a group, consists of families and friends. I also took this airline when I traveled Vietnam and Cambodia as a group last year. It was B737-200 and was quite okay. Anyway I think this airline will quit business in Korea soon.

No. I also wanted to fly on a Y-7 when I was in Cambodia, but they went bankrupt and the Y-7s are parked in Pnomh Penh.

I also flew on XU-U4A in december, Pnomh Penh to Siem Reap. Sort of eerie always when a plane crashes in which you have flown. It's the 4th plane I flew on which later crashed, all were rare old planes which I went out of my way to fly on; a DC-3, Il-86 and Grumman Mallard. Just a reminder this hobby HAS some risks.

We still can't confirm it is XU-U4A - they also operate XU-385. I'm trying to find this out but there doesn't seem to be any information available.

OR, can you list up all aircrafts you've flown throughout your life so that we can prevent to take those planes.

Don't worry, it are more then 500 different frames, indeed I have an excel list available for those who care. But 4 (of which the Il-86 was a non fatal landing without undercarriage on Dubai) out of 500 is statistically not alarming. The only scary thing is that it are 3 out of the 20 or so "propliners" I flew

According to the local news server lidovky.cz the search operations have been very difficult due to heavy rains and fog. Cambodian prime minister Mr. Hun Sen also requested assistance from the US in the form of satellite pictures of the area hoping to localize the wreck.

I've now been on 2 planes that have crashed, both of them not very long after I flew them, which is a little scary. This one has really rattled me, as it was only two weeks, same sector, flight number and everything! And it is likely to be the same crew too RIP.

Came pretty close to flying on this myself in March. Decided to take the 6 hour bus ride to Phnom Penh for $4 instead - (scary enough ride itself) and then headed north to Laos.

Lao Airlines operates the chinese built AN24's. Take a look at their website.

There's been a report of the pilot ignoring the tower's warning that he's flying too low.

I just found out that all the Czech victims were from the high school I used to go to... Two twins and their older brother. They were all very nice people and this came as a huge shock to everyone... My deepest respects to the family.
