S7 Air Boeing 737/Airbus 320 Order

Mon Jun 25, 2007 10:47 pm

According to S7 Airlines the 10 Boeing 737-800 will be for a new entity S7 Charter Airlines.

Wikipeida claims: This division will concentrate of flying tourist passengers to holiday desinations. Initially, the aircraft for this division will be used from within the mainstream fleet, but during 2010-2014, 10 Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be leased with an all economy layout

The 29 Airbus 320 will mainly be for scheduled service to fly around Europe and Domestic. Plus, S7 Air currently operates 7 A319- I believe these planes were purchased from NWA.

What is the point on seperating the orders?
Is it better to configure 737 in Economy only?

Or maybe when they ordering the 15 787 they asked Boeing to build them 10 737 exactly to the same specs as RyanAir? lol

Since the B-737-800s will be used for charters, it really makes sense to use the Boeings, instead of the A-320s. The B-737 has more range than the A-320, and the charter flights could be going almost anywhere.
