Possible Airplane Crash At LSZR/ACH

Fri Jun 29, 2007 11:12 pm

My Dad just called me some minutes ago there is big smoke at the Airport Altenrhein (Switzerland) and Firefighters are closing the area, he says that must have been a bigger plane.

Anyone knows what is happening i couldn't find anything on the news. I really hope all are safe if there has been a crash.
The biggest planes landing there are Q400, CRJ's, Gulfstreams, Cessna Citiation...

according to 20min.ch it is a large fire at a factory (BWB) near the airport

Yes got that news to now. Thanks god it wasnt a plane. They said there were several explosions and smoke clouds up to 150m.
So false alarm.  duck

Here is the link in German. They say the fire at the factory is like a volcanic eruption:

I suggested deletion of this thread. Airports often have fire training excersizes, tests and factories closeby and it shouldn't have posted in the first place without more likelyness there was an actual airplane involved.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

Well from my Dads position it looked like smoke from the Runway and so much smoke is really strange. Besides at LSZR have happen accidents in the past. Though i apologize this error. I will myself ask for a thread deletion.

edit: spelling

Well, if it would just have been an exercise i would have agreed with you..although it was in fact a real fire but just not at the airport or the result from a plane crash. It could easily have been though.
