What Plane Did Eastern Fly. . .

Thu Aug 10, 2000 12:38 am

Hi all,

As a child, I took a flight on Eastern Airlines from DFW to Greenville-Spartanburg, SC. It was my first flight "alone", and I'm trying to track down the a/c that Eastern would have used on that route in the summers of 1983 and/or 1984. Any old Eastern experts out there? Thanks so much for your help.

I don't think it could've been nonstop. You must have went through Atlanta. In 1984 they operated a variety of DC-9-30's and 727-200's from DFW to ATL and from ATL to Greenville they flew DC-9-30's, DC-9-50's, and 727-200's. It all depended on what time of day it was.

Cody,

Thanks for the help thus far. I vaguely remember a connection in ATL. I left DFW in the morning and arrived in GSP in the late afternoon. Does that help?

The only thing I see that it could be is Eastern 368 a DC-9-30 from Dallas connecting to Eastern Eastern 234, a 727-200. It left DFW at 1130 am and arrived GSP at 409 pm. Hope that helps. If this wasn't it, it is safe to assume you were on at least a DC-9 during one of the legs.
