Cheers.

My best guess would be BBC News 24 or CNN

Yes on Sky you can get most of the international news channels including Fox 'News' and CNN - so if it's not deemed worthy enough to be live on either BBC News or Sky it should be on there.

Looking forward to it!

Tell that to Boeing. I just cut and pasted what they put in. What is being built in Moscow? (I thought it was just some preliminary design work).

Anybody know when this will show up on the Dish schedule? I just tried to schedule it on my DVR and the channel doesn't show up at the moment.

I have the channel, but you can only look 2 days ahead in the programing guide.

For those that are or live in the Pacific Northwest, i.e. Crescent City, CA northward, Alaska (I think), east to Boise, Northwest Cable News (NWCN) will broadcast this 787 premiere live as well.

OK, the channel is there, it's just not showing as being available to me. Hopefully they'll unlock it before the event. In any case, it let me set a timer.

It is unlocked on Sunday. If you have a seven or 10 day guide, you can just jump forward to Sunday and it will turn from red to grey at the time of the Boeing show...

just a question. what will the inside of the 787 look like? Will it be a shell of a plane? or will it be finished?

If people can't get hold of it on satellite, I reckon there'll be a webcast too... the A380 had one if I remember correctly.

It will not be empty as some have speculated. But it will not be finished either. Something between the two. I believe the cockpit will be mostly installed, as it was already stuffed. The main deck floor will be installed, most of the wiring, etc.

And then between now and first flight, they have to finish the inside (for testing, not for passenger service) and do ground tests with that equipment inside.

This means installation of computer terminals, a few seats for crew, testers and observers as well as ballast to simulate weight. I assume it should look similar to a cargo plane during roll out and then like the interior of the A380 during flight test.

I so want to see this but my wife would have a fit if I watched on a "family day". Hope boeing keeps it as a video that can be watched later.

I'm far away to blame you for missing Moscow from that list.  Wink I don't know the whole story, but I think around 300 Russian engineers took part in 787 design, not just preliminary.

As far as I know there's partially installed interior. I may suppose there are sidewalls, ceilings and stowage bins inside. Also there should be tons of testing equipment and water tanks (weight imitation), but I'm not quite sure it's already there. Probably they will put it inside a bit later.

I think that was the Dreamlifter mostly. Not sure how much actual 787 engineering took place in Moscow.

Dreamlifter is the whole different story. There was about 30% of engineering done in Moscow.

Always looks the same. Lots of bare insulation, miles of extra wires for all the sensors, ballast tanks, sections of coach seats strategically placed.

Why not make it part of family day? Watch with your family? Get your kids interested in your hobby? Brand new aircraft families only come along about one every 5 years, and not all of them turn out to be worth it.

Not there yet. From what I understand, they have to get it fit out correctly (like a rough inspection for a house) before they put in the test stuff.

Kind of sad, but other than the US, only the UK gets a rollout on 8 July. For most of the customers - including ANA - the rollout is actually 7-9-07 (or 9-7-07)  Sad

Actually, there's one more thing that spoils the whole story. Not every nation defines 8th of July as 7/8. Here in Russia we put the date before the month, so 8th of July is 8/7 for me. I suppose lots of countries use the same system.

It will be 7/8/07 in Seattle when it's rolled out, where executives of the purchasing airlines will be at the time of the rollout. It doesn't ruin it for anyone.

I don't see how that "spoils" anything.

An evolutionary new airliner is being rolled out for public view. The date doesn't matter.  airplane

That was part of the plan.

If the plane was late coming together then it would be rolled out on 7/8/7 (7 Aug 2007) in honor of all the international customers.

---

I have my DVR set to record the DirecTV feed on Ch 576 on 7/8/7.
