Boeing 7Series Complete 7/7/07 Flyover Details

Sat Jul 07, 2007 11:09 pm

Last night as I was taxiing to the gate at SEA after my cross country flight, my phone rings and on the other line comes the complete schedule for tonight's events at PAE and BFI.

The rumors are true, the parade of Seven series aircraft will take place tonight, July 7, 2007 (7/7/07). Boeing will leave PAE tonight with eight aircraft (707 through 777) beginning at 1835 PDT. Over the following hour each will land at BFI. The 707 will land at 7:07, the 717 will land at 7:17 and so on.

Complete schedule, including the involved aircraft and tail numbers are here:

Now in Seattle.

Onward,

IAD787

I would have been wonderful if Boeing could have done a fly over with the Dash 80 that's at Udvar-Hazy Center. Perhaps even a Tex style barrel roll.

But, we can live with the Omega 707.

I've checked really carefully and my watch doesn't have a 7:67 OR 7:77 time on it - love to see how that's going to work  Wink

I'm about a 12 hours away straight up I-5 here in Sacramento and I've thought about making the trip up there for the roll out. I'm slightly regretting not going for it but I've got lots of other commitments here at the moment. I'd love to see the 7 series flyover regardless of the planes.

I call for no arguing over what plane! This is supposed to be a happy thread.

I'm very happy to see that you will be there IAD787. You deserve it.

If anyone needs a ride from the East Side of Lake Washington (Bellevue, Kirkland, Renton, etc), I'll be going down to BFI tonight from my place here in Bellevue. Message me for a carpool.

Where is Area 31? I was planning to try the Museum of Flight parking lot, but I think I'm not going to be the only one down there. Message me if anyone else is going to be there.

Some flight numbers for you guys.

FL 717 arriving at PAE from MCI as TRS8601
DL 767 arriving at PAE from SEA as DAL9900
arrived SEA from ATL as DAL9723
RR 747 arrived yesterday N787RR
CO 757 operating EWR-SEA as COA1990 (This flight is an extra section, so I assume it will go to PAE later)

I would assume the AF 77W being used is not yet delivered and already there. The AS 737 will probably be coming from SEA, but has awhile to do so. And I haven't found anything on the 727 or 707 yet.

Do you think there's anything significant about the number of Delta aircraft participating? Perhaps a signal for an 787 order announcement?  stirthepot

I've come out of hiding after a LONG time...

The 727 is already there, it came in yesterday. Its a Fedex 727F.
The 737 is coming from Seatac as ASA9501 http://flightaware.com/live/flight/ASA9501
The 707 is no where to be found... that aircraft hasn't filed a flight plan yet... As of last plan it was in San Antonio. Not a good place to be when you need to be on the ground at PAE for a crew meeting in 3 hours...
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N707MQ

Anyone know if they are going to leave, set up for V and cross PAE going south then over the city and then BFI, splitting off to land at 7:07, 7:17 etc?

Would make the most sense...

The 707 arrived at PAE at 1:00pm and was the gorgeous Omega Tanker N707MQ. It will depart about 6:40pm from PAE with the 717-777 behind it. The 707 will not return to PAE but depart BFI on Sunday at 1:00pm. The Rolls Royce 747 returns to PAE that night and leaves the area on Tuesday. Let's hope for some creative titling from some of the airliners give the exposure of the event at BFI!!.

So is the best place to watch this at BFI or PAE or either one? I'd much rather go to BFI since I live closer, but I want to get the best view!

Anyone know?

On second thought, I'm going up to PAE to watch them take off. I'm going to try and find other spotting places on the west side of the airfield (since I'm assuming they are taking off north), but if all else fails, I'll be at the parking lot of the Future of Flight Museum. Also, if it is clear they are taking off south, I'll be at the FoFM lot. If you see me, stop me. I'm a tall guy (6'4"), glasses, black hair, and I'll be wearing a maroon shirt with "Minnesota" lettering across the front.

Maybe internally, but the DL flight should be using call sign Roll Out 767. Planes won't be (or shouldn't be) filed with their company callsigns, at least from PAE-BFI.

Flights should be starting up now!

Good luck photographers/videographers!

Are they a little behind? At 1920 PDT, I heard the SEA tower controller advise another aircraft about a 717 in the pattern at BFI. She then told a light aircraft passing through the airspace to keep their camera out for the aircraft at BFI.  bigthumbsup

Just got back from a park near my house... Watched all the airplanes take off and head out over Port Gardner bay in Everett... They took off to the north and turned east before heading south towards Seattle... Earlier in the day, the Dreamlifter flew directly over my house on its way to BFI, and not 5 minutes before that a C-17 had flown over heading East... All in all a good day to be here in Everett, only to be topped tomorrow because I will be at the 87 rollout.
