VX Website Gets CyberAttack

It seems as though Virgin America is reporting that yesterday when their webiste went down, they wre Cyber Attacked.

Actually, they sound a little paranoid. It could be that they just didn't plan well enough for the traffic and the site crashed because so many people were trying to use it.

100% Agreed...

The powers that be would seem not to have planned out the site very well.. There are a few other threads that list glaring problems with the Virgin America website and everything from lack of service information, lack of price information, and lack of in-flight amenity information..

Trust me, any decent net admin can quickly tell the difference between an overload of genuine traffic and a DoS (denial of service) attack. The consequence may be the same, but the traffic patterns are different.

Now you may argue that they did go down because of the volume of traffic and chose to blame a non-existent attack instead, but that makes them liars, not paranoid. Either way, it's fairly easy to find out for those who really care.
