Nice to see some plane upgrades on other airports as they need the 73G fleet to run CGH flights.
Gol also reduced it's GIG-GRU-LIM service from daily to 6x weekly.

TAM should announce it's changes also later tomorrow.

I heard they were trying to clear congestion at CGH.

I'm sorry, if I wasn't clear enough, but what I meant was that some flights are being transferred, but not all of them. Above you see which ones get transferred.

Airlines may also be anticipating public reaction to the TAM accident. A considerable percentage of passengers may reject the CGH product in the aftermath of the accident, especially in times of bad weather.

Anticipating? Passengers have even come to the point of making scenes at the airports, because the airlines wouldn't rebook them on other flights. Where have you been the past week?

Ghost, today three different times, and JJ/G3 pilots has been instructed to not land there in case of rain.

Thanks all for your feedback! So its all about clearing congestion at CGH, avoiding landings during wet weather conditions and more... as long as safety records keep clean, good for G3 and JJ!!!

All this sudden change of operations and sort of migration from CGH to GRU !!!

How is this going to affect Guarulhos and all the international ops there ? I mean, will slots allocated to international carriers are to be adjusted ? Furthermore, how crowded will GRU get and how authorities are to cope with this, both on the ground and in the air ?

Best regards

On another thread - GRU is a mess today with multi-hour waits at security, changing flight information, people sleeping on the floors with length delays.

The ATC part will be easiest to maintain / fix.

But the ground part is a big mess.

Is this photo taken from the crash site???!!

Seriously, how far down the road is the crash site from this photo? And what is the current status of the site - have the pulled down the TAM building yet or are investigators still inside the remains? Has the aircraft wreckage been removed yet?
None shall pass!!!!

Guarulhos will become a nightmare for travellers. And without Vip line for C/F, even a Top costumer need to be ready for long lines on Security, long delays on domestic flights on remote positions (because of the lack of equipment), delays on baggage claims.

Also for push-back, taxi and take-off, during peak hours (late afternoon and night), expect some delays as GRU, despite keep 2 runways (9/27L and R) they are closer than 760m and because of that can't run simultaneous operations.

No Richierich, was taken from Ocean Air building, 6th floor by Mr. Luiz Escada.

Not sure, but seems to be 200 meters.

Some, but i'm not sure on this reply. I know they are taking parts to another hangar inside CGH.

BTW, can anybody explain why the airport was originally built like that? I know the air base has always been there, and there was only one rwy (09/27 - maybe 08/26 at the time) which later became 09R/27L if I´m not mistaken. Why building the other one so close together? Is there a good reason why? I don´t remember to ever have heard/read about it. It seems like one of those things nobody can explain!!

Cmte Hori, several people in Brazil, specially Infraero, believe they can build a model of "perfect airport"

I never saw this on A.Net but i just comment on other thread:

We create four divisions in an airport (Domestic / International - Boarding and Bag Claim/Disembark) .

Because we do not screen pax on some airports, as we are smart, we put additional screenings at CGH, GRU and GIG and force even who has been screened to do it again. And sometimes those X-Rays become available... while long lines are formed for the others.

GRU land space is not the best one and in fact is a bad project as they could just build the terminals 100m behind allowing the 2 runways to become operational all times and even on same time.
