AN-124 In YYC...

Wed Jul 25, 2007 10:53 am

Yesterday I saw an AN-124 over fly where I work on his way out of YYC. To my understanding, these birds are here fairly frequently (possibly weekly). Does anyone know who it is flying in/out for, and if so what the schedule is? I would like to be able to catch takeoff/landing. On a side note, has the AN-225 ever made a stop in YYC? Anyone know?

I see one every couple of weeks as well. I've heard people mention that they are here to pickup oil rig equipment and whatnot but I have no idea if it is true.

Not sure on the schedule thing. They aren't on the YYC airport site as departures

They wouldn't be on departures as they are cargo. They are most likely cargo/cargo charters that are in YYC one or twice weekly. Usually Mondays and Fridays. I would guess some kind of chartered cargo as they haven't been coming to YYC for very long. Don't think any have been to Calgary but who knows.
