I am guessing that "SEA-TAC" is referring to Seattle Tacoma and not "TAC" being a destination? Sorry, just a little confused.

CNN reporting that a passenger who missed the flight made the threat. Not too bright.

Here is the SEA Tower ATC from 12:30-1:00pm PST, the landing should be there somewhere:

I now understand that it did not land until 1:14pm, so ATC may be found here:

Here is how it went:

NW980: Tower Northwest 980 visual approach for runway 34 center... and we're recommending that you please pull the aircraft up ahead of us off the approach.

TWR: Northwest 980 Seattle Tower cleared to land.

NW980: Cleared to land, 980.

HZN196: SEA tower, just checkin in.

TWR: Horizon 196, missed approach please.

HZN196: Missed approach for Horizon 196.

NW980: Can we get a confirmation of landing clearance?

TWR: Northwest 980 cleared to land 34 center, bird on final is missed approach, and in front of you is turning off...number 1 for landing.

NW980: Okay...we're planning on rolling to the end

TWR: They want you at November

NW980: Exit at November?

TWR: Exit where you can and proceed to Tengo-November.

I stopped listening then...it was about 1/3 of the way in on the most recent link in case you wanted to listen.

If that's the case, then this individual should be forced to forfeit their right to ever fly. What an idiot.

Just a knitpicky thing... The story on KING-TV's website indicates that the FAA stopped all inbounds. I don't think that's right as you can clearly hear clearencees being given for landing not long after 980 was down. And besides...what would the logic of that be?

If you look at the KING-5 towercam that I posted in reply 11, the busses arrived and seems like the NWA rampers are unloading the plane.

I forgot to ask: Does anyone at NWA know the tail number of this aircraft?

I suspect it's just an assumption on their part, sort of similar to any aircraft making an emergency landing "dumping fuel" even though the aircraft involved are not even equipped with fuel dump systems.

That is stupid for passengers to do that because of missing flight. He would be so sorry when he is throw into jail for said that words. So guess many passengers would sue him for emotion problem on that day.

What a waste. Think of how many hundreds, if not thousands of people this effects. Then we could get to the secondary/tertiary effects... What if there were some eyeballs onboard going to meet someone for a transplant?

This idiot should be billed for all the extra expense that has occured. Crew, fuel and all the compensation due to the pax onboard. Then he ought to be brought up on federal charges and be forced to ride a 1978 moped where ever he needs to go in the future.

The FAA issued a Ground Stop ("SECURITY/OTHER") for SEA arrivals, meaning that any flight not already departed for SEA had to stay where it was. GS was lifted about a hour later.

Thanks for that. That makes a bit more sense than the way KING reported it.

Those that choose to mix selfishness with stupidity usually end up paying the consequences. I hope he gets locked up for awhile. What did think was going to happen, that they were to let him on board after searching the a/c and discovering no bomb? I'm sure he manipulates his wife the same way.

I was wondering why they issued the ground stop. I heard SEA was in ground stop but CD/FD didn't give the reason...now I know. Hope all turns out ok.

So for about 1 hour...SEA saw no arrivals at all. That 1 hour caused probably a day worth of trouble.

Well O'Hare was stopped for a while yesterday for thunderstorms. Lot's of real bad delays lately.
