Flyforbeans.com Looking For Pilots

Fri Jul 27, 2007 8:30 pm

There was a short thread about the new airline flyforbeans.com in March, in which most people were wondering whether this was a real airline or some kind of joke. Well, in the Flight International 17-23 July issue, there is an advertisement for Boeing 737-300 pilots, to be based in Cardiff.

The website is functioning, and gives several email addresses to contact people within the company. No info on a start date nor routes yet. I am wondering where they will get the aircraft from.

Does anyone have more information on this company? Maybe A.netters from Cardiff who have heard something through the grapevine?

They are looking at 737-300s, they should not be that hard to expensive to find.

I did hear that a certain CWL based 737 operators, chief pilot, has been recruited to head Flyforbeans operation.
Also know of FA's that have applied for jobs too.

What a lovely name for an airline. I find their email addresses rather humorous too. Saying that, I'm not sure whether or not the assumed staff will be laughing at the number of spam that they will probably be getting!

I would be surprised if this does take off. I am getting the same feeling I had when I heard of Now, and Hop, both of which failed to takeoff. Still though, I'll eat my beans, I mean words if they do take off. Granted they don't sound as daft as that pink airline, for girls

If they have reached the hiring stage then they are obviously confident of placing a lot of outlay on the recruitment process, so yes, I would expect them to 'take off'. However, whether they succeed or not once they are in operation is another matter.

Why would any pilot want to fly for a company with that name. You won't find many pilots who will fly for beans aka cheap pay.
Good Luck to all Skyway Pilots! It's been great working with you!

What about those at Mesa, BlowJets, and TransSucks (TSA)? Sorry I just had to lol.

Anywho I hope they do well and hope they bring the industry quality of living up, and not drag it down like most start-ups.

Ryanair undoubtedly has the cheapest fares of any airline, yet their pilot salaries are not measly at all, far from it in fact!

An airline's name is mainly to attract passengers, I don't think that pilots care too much about the name as long as it isn't crashwithus.com. Many people for whom English isn't their native language might not know what 'fly for beans' stands for, but the website explains it pretty well.

Means nothing. NOW recruited people who left good jobs with other airlines, and they did not take off.
