Did United Suspend Fargo-->Denver Service?

Sat Jul 28, 2007 2:32 am

Greetings everyone I dont usually post on the forums on airliners.net but i was just checking my ticket on UAL.com for thanksgiving break and there was a schedule change. I was originally supposed to fly FAR-DEN-LGA but now I am flying FAR-ORD-LGA. The change isnt a big deal to me the reservation agent helped me in finding a new flight that suited my needs. The only question being when and why did united suspend this route according to the United reservations agent?
Thanks For The Feedback
Justin

Apollo is still showing services between Denver Fargo operated by SkyWest Airlines. Flights schedules far beyond March 2008. I know there is a schedules change somewhere in October that might affect flights departures. But no Fargo services on UAX has been suspended.

Dropping? They wouldn't do that, every flight goes out with a +95% Load Factor. I have heard that they're upgrading to E170 on one of the frequencies, and I have seen a CR7 subbed in for a CR2 on flightaware occaisionally.

If you really want to experience DEN (versus changing planes at ORD), call United and explain that the computer made the change, and that you'd really prefer the old route. Since it was the computer that made the change, a reservation agent should be able to make the change without any cost to you at all.

I have had this happen before on several different airlines, and without hesitation, I can say that every single airline (UA, AA, HP, and US) was happy to re-book me to a schedule more to my liking.

If you can know times and flight numbers as well as airplane types and seats, you will probably pleasantly shock the person on the other end of the line. The last time it happened the agent couldn't believe anybody knew the difference between an A319 and an A320!!

UA is still flying from FAR to DEN, and I am surprised that they have not sent in CR7s on a regular basis like they do to FAR's neighbor 3 1/2 hours to the south, FSD. Speaking of FSD, after several absent years, UA mainline will be making a comeback starting in September with two daily flights to DEN using 733 and 735 aircraft. With UA returning to DEN how many Class D airports does UA serve? It can't be many.

Good luck calling UA. You'll get someone in a far off land that doesn't speak English and will be little to no help for you.

No, there is no upgrade to the E170. The route is now being served on 3 CR2s, and 1 CR7 Monday-Saturday, come Sept. 5th, it will be on the route sunday-friday.

They are, see above. If you want to talk about rumors...lets talk about DLC service to CVG or ATL.

Justin, I go to UND too. Message me with your Confirmation # and I'll look into in it.

They are only doing this to compete (and i use that term loosely) with F9 and their recent announcement to fly DEN-FSD with the Q400. I don't expect you will see this for very long.

I thought they decided on SUX, RAP, and ICT as the first cities to serve the Q400 and not FSD? Also from what I hear the UA flights are only on a 5 month trial period.

Those are the first 3 cities, yes. Sorry, I jumped the gun. Pretend I didn't say anything about FSD yet. The trail period you are talking about is correct as well, but I think I remember hearing a different time length. I'll look into that too.
