LOT Polish Airlines To Start PEK & PVG?

Sun Jul 29, 2007 9:58 am

Heard this from a friend that LO will commence direct flight from Warsaw to Beijing and continue to Shanghai using a B767 from March 2008. Can anyone confirm this? I'd imagine PEK-PVG would be a codeshare with either CA or FM?

This has come up before. LO has served PEK before for quite a few years, so if true would mean recommencement of previously abandoned route.

LO is short on widebodies now; this would likely be contingent on the arrival of the 787s on time (which looks fairly likely) or the procural of more 767s (not out of the question). Nonetheless, I have to believe that any service would be contingent on additional airplanes arriving on property, and perhaps on completion of the renovations at WAW, which is pretty cramped now.
