Grumman G-159 Gear Up Landing 7/30/2007 Video

Tue Jul 31, 2007 3:39 pm

Found an interesting video of G-159 landing with partial gear up. The Grumman G-159 was on a military flight from San Nicolas Island to Point Mugu.

summary and video here... http://cbs5.com/topstories/local_story_211164620.html

Thanks for the link...interesting vid...who operated the G-I???? It seems to have an N-number written on the tail, plus Im not sure any branch of the US armed forces flies any G-I currently, so clearly its from a civilian agency, even though the article says it was a "military flight"...

Phoenix Air. They do lots of military contract work.

The Gulfstreams are mentioned at the bottom of this page.

I'd fly on that pilots aircraft anytime. What poise and skill.

Nice landing. I love the GI. Wish I could fly one. Been in on at KBVI though, doesn't fly though.

Thats actually a G-159C (G-1C) which was a modified stretch version for commuter service, but only 5 were modified that way. A very rare version of the G-1. It looks like it could be this aircraft, but I think Phoenix has a few G-1Cs:
