T2 @ FRA Updates.

Sat Aug 04, 2007 9:36 pm

yesterday I went to the reopened observation desk at T2.

finally it is open again!

strolling around T2, I noticed once again, that I dont like the building. not enough gates. too much space without any use...T1 is in a way messy, but always busy and it feels somehow cosmopolitan.

by the way...there is some construction going on between T1 C and T2. these new gates will be accessible from T1 oder T2?

T1 only.
they are building the new A380 gates there. the concept is to have all premium customers upstairs (Business and First class) and all Economy pax on the lower level.

but anyhow good to see that they opened again the terrace.

how is the sight there especially onto the a/c at the gates?

Both I guess. It will be the connection between T1 and 2, depends on the secfurity if you will be able to access the other terminal air side. The bus gates 50-52 are lousy places. BA uses these at the moment during the time they enable some main gates to handle the A380. At least you can see the construction going on from the back side, the gap between both terminals is closed now. Thinking about that, up until the 70s, there was the old cargo centre, it is hardly believable that only 35 years ago all that freight could be handled in this tiny area..

T2 certainly is not an optimised airport terminal, but what else could they do with the space available? BTW, the worst place in that Terminal is the food court which is also the entrance area for the visitors platform.

Why? I like it. Big grin

So now there will be people blocking your view when sitting in the McDonald's?  Wink
One of the best places in the world: McDonald's in T2 at FRA.

No, never go there, like I said, I do not like the food court up there and I do not go to places I don't like. BTW, the visitors platform was open earlier this year, but you needed an invitation from Fraport. The occasion was the A380 party.

this building with the bus gates D50-54 (and D40-44) is only temporary. they will destroy it after building up the new gates.

T2 is one of the nicer terminals in Europe.
