AA 757 Refurbishment?

Sun Aug 13, 2000 3:18 pm

I was just on an AA 757 from Honolulu to San Jose, CA and noticed that indeed it had been repitched with the More Room Throughout Coach seating config., and was quite comfortable in row 34F (First Class was full!).

My question is however, if anyone out there knows when AA plans on refurbishing their 757s with the new seats, wall coverings and carpeting. These plans look so old inside compared to the MD80s, 737s and other refurbished aircraft.

What a beauty these 757s will be once they get their "face lift."

Not until after the "More room" program is finished with the widebodies. I would think that the 20 new a/c will be delivered with the new seat covers, and then the older a/c will be modified.

AA is refurbishing the planes in shifts. I think they use some money and then they have to start another program for the next shift. I do believe that 757s and F100s are the next in line.
