2 FlyBE Cabin Crew Collapse During Flight!

A union is demanding an investigation into suspected toxic gas poisoning of an airline cabin crew.
Two Flybe crew members reportedly collapsed and became violently ill on a flight between Birmingham and George Best Belfast City Airport.

Flybe said all of its aircraft were manufactured and maintained to the highest industry standard.

Dessie Henderson, of the Transport and General Workers' Union, said he had held several meetings with the company.

"They don't seem to be able to find the cause of the problem," he said.

"There has to be a more vigorous investigation into the causes of this, because the bottom line is that the cabin crew and pilots are affected by it."

In a statement, Flybe said: "Any incidents involving sickness experienced by cabin crew, flight crew or passengers are taken very seriously by the company, with appropriate medical support always provided."

Lemme guess, it was a Ba146? If it was, it wouldn't be the first time. It happened here in Sweden as well, but it was CO or FO (don't remember) who felt sick. It seems that whisperjets they have a nasty habit of ingesting engine oil fumes into packs.

Am I right in thinking the 146's are on the way out of the FlyBE fleet?

I understood that they want more Dash8's and E-jets.

There were problems in Australia with BAe146's as well - cabin crew and passengers became unwell after inhaling toxic fumes from the air conditioning or something. It was in Private Eye (so it must be true  biggrin  )

FlyBe just plainly sucks. The "do not BYO food policy" is totally unacceptable.
