Continental is unofficially a member of the Wings alliance. Wings has not formally been launched yet, although some airlines talk about themselves being members.

Emirates () is the international airline of the United Arab Emirates. In April 1998, Emirates acquired a stake in Air Lanka. They have won a number of prestigious awards including: Airline of the Year for 94, 98, 99, and 00 by Executive Travel and OAG Travel Awards; Best Airline to the Middle East for eleven years running since 1988 by Air Cargo News and many passenger service awards given by Air Transport World. Emirates operates services to 48 destinations in 37 countries in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, West Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, the Pacific Rim, and Australia. In addition, Emirates serves numerous cargo destinations around the world.
Scope of Cooperation
Continental and Emirates recently announced that they will expand their cooperative marketing relationship to include enhanced schedule coordination, codesharing on each others' flights, and reciprocal frequent flyer program participation. Once government approval has been obtained, CO will display its CO designator on Emirates' flights between London/ Gatwick (LGW) and Dubai, United Arab Emirates (DXB). Likewise, Emirates will display its EK designator on Continental's flights between London/ Gatwick and both Houston and New York/ Newark.
Frequent Flyer Benefits
Continental OnePass customers will be able to earn OnePass miles anywhere on Emirates effective August 1, 2000. Frequent flyer redemptions will be announced at a later date.
Airport Lounge Information
Continental Presidents Club and BusinessFirst customers will have access to Emirates' lounges in London/ Gatwick and Dubai when travelling on an Emirates flight.
