The Trent 1000s' Video!

HEY!!!!

I just found this video on the Rolls-Royce Boeing 747 testing out the new engine's for the 787!

Just go to YouTube, and type in Boeing 787 Dreamliner Test Bed.

I like the windmilling fan blade on the side of the building at the RR plant. For a youtube video embed, just copy the embed URL link from the right side of the video. Then simply paste that into the text box.

You think they make a smaller version of that? I have the PERFECT wall space for one in my living room!!!!!

Thanks for posting Wingletsman! It is really great to see this engine making such great progress (congrats RR!!). The size difference is truly amazing between the 747's engines and that Trent 1000. Too bad they didn't have a video of the engine running alone, I love hearing the sound of a new engine...gives me goose bumps!!

Why the serated edges on the back of the engine cowlings? Is there an aerodynamic reason, or is it just esthetics?

I recall seeing this in one of the previous posts on either the 787 or the Trent 100...can't find it at the moment. IIRC, it has to do with noise reduction and efficiency. It does look cool though!
