Hainan Airlines International Flights

Sat Aug 11, 2007 2:24 am

Has anyone got a list of Hainan's international destinations. Their website only has details of domestic routes as far as I can see. I am aware of BUD, BRU and LED, and that they are interested in SEA. Hasn't there been talk of extending the BUD service to GVA? Are all international fligts from PEK?

Many Thanks

I think Hainan would be a good candidate for a China-Oslo-Manchester flight. Two of the larger European centers with no Chinese liniks.

Following excerpt from their website (HNA World - About HNA):

...international schedule flights from Beijing to Budapest, from Beijing to Brussels, from Beijing to Osaka, from Beijing to Macao, from Beijing to Novosibirsk, from Beijing to St. Petersburg, from Xi’an to Hongkong, from Urumchi to Astana, from Haikou to Osaka, from Haikou to Bangkok, from Sanya to Seoul.

They announced quite a while ago that they were going to extend the BUD route to GVA in July this year, which hasn't yet happened, so not sure where those plans stand.

Does anyone know what equipment would be used for the SEA flight?

They recently applied for daily Beijing-Moscow and Seattle to operate with A330s.

Also, 2x weekly Urumqi-Astana and 1x weekly Beijing-Dubai-Luanda (738/763 respectively)

They were supposed to start Boston last year, nothing came out of it, and were projecting a Shanghai-Hannover service.

Nothing more than overblown, media hoopla. It was obvious from the start it wasn't going to happen. Maybe in 4-5 years.

What about DUB? No far east links yet Ireland has the 4th highest GDP per capital in the world.

787-8 when they get them?

Can they do it with one of the five 763ERs?

They are getting 5 from ILFC (they ordered them 20JUL06) and 2 are coming from CIT. Deliveries begin this November.

Rolls-Royce announced today at the Farnborough International Airshow that the Hainan Airlines Group has selected the Trent 700 to power a new fleet of five Airbus A330s in a deal worth $250 millon, including a long-term TotalCare® services agreement.

Hainan, a new customer for Rolls-Royce, will lease the aircraft from International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), in an agreement which is incremental business for Rolls-Royce. The selection of the Trent 700 ensures that Rolls-Royce maintains its 100 per cent record of powering all A330s in mainland China and Hong Kong with a fifth campaign win in a row.

Doesn't Hainan also have some flights to Korea and Japan?
