Champion Pulling Out Of DTW

Sun Aug 12, 2007 6:31 am

Effective September (not sure what date exactly) Champion Air is pulling out of DTW...NWA has had it's MLT vacation packages going through Champion, well at 700+ passengers a week, they decided to do it on their own and put the passengers on NWA flights...

Like NWA has the extra capacity????

Guess NWA plans on adding capacity to LAS from DTW either with larger a/c and/or additional flights?
Direct KNOBS, maintain 2700' until established on the localizer, cleared ILS runway 26 left approach.

MLT is now using USA3000 and Ryan Air out of DTW. MLT is offering these flights first and then NWA flights. As far as the DTW/LAS route. Ryan Air is flying that. And I might add at lower prices then NWA flights. Champion Air has pulled out of CLE/IAH/and several other cities and they are not offering MLT or Funjet packages either. So something is up with both of these companies....

I have a friend that works for Champion in MSP and she is looking for employment elsewhere because she isn't sure how much longer Champion is going to be around.

Remember they are flying the B727-200 aircraft and NWA does not want them around any more. And yes MLT is owned by NWA. But they are using different charter companies as well as their own planes and flights.
