Who Was Justin Dart?

Mon Aug 20, 2007 6:29 pm

seeing the name another user chose for himself, i couldn't help but ask this question, what was Justin Dart's claim to fame? i know UA named a 747 after him (N4714U i think), i did a wikipedia search, but I don't think they'd name an airplane after a disabled rights activist, any ideas?
Yes, I'd like to see airbus go under so Boeing can have their customers!

Although Wikipedia shouldn't be 100% trusted, it'll give you an idea.

Who Is Justin Dart?
A.netter in Japan
originally from Wisconsin
Distant relative to Justin Whitlock Dart (but not too far, I believe the split happens with my Great-Great-Grandfather. Would have to ask my grandmother about that.)
All Illinois Darts are related. Our Ancestor came from Southern England and came into the US at New London CT in the late 18th century. Later moved west to Illinois. Part of the family went further to California. You can still find many Darts in CT, IL and CA.

Just by chance my middle initial is also W. but it is for Wilder, from Laura Ingles Wilder. The Dart family and Ingles family came from New London together. Some stayed in the midwest and the rest went to CA. It is all complex but well researched and documented. I just don't have any of it. (all documents are held by my Grandmother and my sister.)
Yes...I am not a KIX fan. Let's Japanese Aviation!
