Aerolineas Argentinas: No More Flights To JFK?

Fri Aug 24, 2007 10:47 am

According to Aerolineas Argentinas website, there are no "available" flights from mid September on the route EZE-JFK-EZE. Apparently the route is not being sold. EZE-MIA-EZE flights show avaiblabilty. Any information on this?

As far as I know, they've been operating EZE-MIA-JFK for a few months already, though I do remember nonstop EZE-JFK flights existing earlier this year...I saw one of their A340s landing at JFK on Tuesday, so they are definitely still at JFK though...

Apollo GDS shows it operating EZE-JFK with 1 stop, on Monday Thursday and Saturday. It is alternating between a 340 and a 343 during the month before settling to a 343 on 4 October

Only AA flies non-stop between the NYC area and EZE I believe, competition would be nice!

AR was supposed to have resumed nonstop flights to JFK in August but because of delays with "new" aircraft joining the fleet it now looks like that will not happen until November. Their schedule now shows nonstop EZE-JFK service, with 3 weekly flights, resuming 1st of Nov. In the meantime, all JFK flights will be operating via MIA.

Are there traffic rights between MIA-JFK and vice versa?
If not, AR is sacrificing loads in the leg MIA-JFK.

No. No foreign carrier has any traffic rights on any domestic leg in the United States.

According to another Forum, AR is discontinuing the MIA-JFK leg, till around December. Last flight will be September 8th.

Well, Amadeus, Galileo and Sabre still show JFK on AR's route map. The information provided above is correct, as to flights and dates operated. Sept and October via MIA (AR 1310/11) and resuming the non stops on November, with the A343, as AR 1300/01.

Please check is you have seats available on EZE-JFK during October for instance.... You will find no availability (free seats), while if you try to make a resrevation on EZE-MIA you have seats available. Being the same flight, EZE-MIA-JFK, if you dont have seats available on EZE-JFK leg (which stops in MIA), you cannot have seats available on EZE-MIA leg.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but AFAIK 340 stand for the Airbus 340 series that includes A340-200 (A342), A340-300 (A343), A340-500 (A345) and A340-600 (A346)

That is true, but Aerolineas shows in Reservations Systems 340 for A340-200, and 343 for A340-300
