Is this in addition to the OSL flights or will OSL-BEG flights be terminated after RYG flights commence?

Is there really a need to duplicate services at 2 airports (OSL and RYG)? The market would not appear to be that huge to justify it. As raised above, are they looking at moving services to the neew airport, thus not operating in duplication?

How far is this new airport from Ryanair's Oslo gateway?

Interesting news.

Depends on the route - Im sure bigger destinations like STN and ALC can support it.

BCN and Palagna will be served by Norweigan from Rygge only - they are not currently served from OSL

They have not mentioned anything about terminating any routes from OSL. They actually said RYG would compliment their base at OSL. I am not sure RYG will be large enough to handle all DY´s traffic from Oslo anyway.

Haven´t heard anything about that, but then again DY is good at keeping secrets. DY has about 15 new planes on the way, so we are going to see many new routes in the future. Malta might be a possibility. I think KM does OK on their route.

Well.. DY is good at this game. They have started routes that people didn´t think would work before with good success. One reason for this move might be that OSL is getting crowded (especially at peak times), so increasing there could be more difficult than starting up at RYG. They are also targeting not just the Oslo area, but the area towards the Swedish border and perhaps all the way down towards Gothenburg. RYG might also be used on some routes where they would face competition on OSL. I have predicted before that they might start up RYG-MAN. I have a hard time believing that there is only room for SK on the OSL-MAN route.

ATH is also a new one (only served from WAW up until now).

Studying their schedule, it seems you are right. BEG is moved from OSL, and increased from one to two times per week. SZZ also seems to be moved from OSL.

Yeah, that's what I've noticed as well. Do you know how the this route is doing? I presume quite well since it's a major upgrade of capacity from a 733 to a 738, and doubling of frequency?

Also, JU has indefinitely shelved its OSL plans, seems that DY have dealt them a "blow" here.

I don´t have any numbers, but since they are increasing to two times weekly it must be good. Whether they will use the 738 on this route i don´t know. The press-release might give the impression that they will only use the 738 from RYG, but i expect it will be a combination.

Norwegian is becoming such a strong brand here, that foreign airlines find it hard to compete against them. 4U wasn´t able to compete with them, and DY´s strenght is also rumored to be the reason why U2 and AB is reluctant to establish themselves here.
