Air Europa Question

Tue Sep 04, 2007 8:06 pm

With the advent of Skyteam membership, could someone list the NONSTOP destinations flown by UX from both MAD and BCN? The website route map show many connecting services and makes them appear to be nonstops. Also, with ST membership, does anyone think that UX will develop more service from MAD and BCN to allow more onward connections from other ST carriers like CO and DL?

AF has been codesharing on UX metal for quite some time, besides MAD and BCN I can recall CDG-VLC and CDG-ALC, both flights scheduled on very covenient way to connect with AF long haul network out of CDG

I think UX still needs to implement some Skyteam best practices before they can increase codeshares with ST partners (ex. e-tickets, website capable of booking skyteam codeshare flights, etc.). For example, UX and AM have been codesharing on the CUN-MAD route, but nothing on the MEX-MAD route. I just tried to book a MEX-MAD-LCY and the MAD-LCY portion needs a paper ticket if I book it under the UX code. Under the AF code, price goes up a lot (MAD-LCY is a flight operated by CityJet and sold by AF and UX). It will make a very good connection for people flying from MEX to London (Canary Wharf) who don't want to go to LHR...

How did they get approval for full ST membership without standarizing their system (ticketing/booking/fares/etc) with the network?

In the case of OW, recent newcomers MA and RJ didn't join until aspects like the ones you refered to by UX were solved

They did not get full membership. They're associate members.
