BA's Profits On Short-haul. Your Help Please

Wed Sep 05, 2007 6:55 pm

Hello guys,

I have a question that desperately needs answering and would be grateful for your help.

In the financial year 2005/2006, British Airways announced a profit on its short-haul flights for the first time in 10 years. In some of the earlier press releases and commentary from financial analysts and publication, it was said short-haul made a small profit of £7 million. I even remember reading this on airliners.net. However. I cannot find any sources for this figure now. I have quoted this £7 million figure in a study I a submitting and desperately need a source or a confirmation from someone that this figure is indeed correct.

I have tried searching, but have found no luck.

I look forward to your replies and suggestions.

Thank you ever so much  Wink

I had a quick look at the BA investor relations page. http://www.bashares.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=69499&p=irol-index

Shorthaul seems to be a combination of UK/Europe, and the £7m figure is mentioned in the transcript of the Q4 & Prelim presentation:

http://library.corporate-ir.net/libr...6%20analyst%20conf%20transcipt.pdf

If you can't find the £7m figure somewhere in the 05/06 accounts, I'd have thought reference to this transcript should be sufficient.
