Good for G4! PBG will be a good east coast version of BLI.

I think everything moved over to the AFB now, they built a new large terminal there from what i recall

Interesting that they will not operate Plattsburgh, NY to SFD.

Maybe they are focusing on the large French-Canadian population that summers in the Hollywood area of Florida.

Which market will suffer most from the inauguration of flights to PBG...Burlington VT or Montreal, Canada?

All you Plattsburgh folks will love flying with Allegiant. Their customer attitude and service are exemplary and are a big cut above our other major carriers.

They deserve every ounce of success they achieve - so Plattsburgh, try them, you will love them!

The Plattsburg airport is closing and all traffic moving to the old air force base that was vacated. I spoke to several users at the old airport and they were none too happy about the move. A nice new terminal with gates was at the deserted AFB but was gated. Wonder if Allegiant got an inducement to fly here? On a side note if you look at google earth there's an engineless 747SP on the ramp. What's the skinny?

SFD.

Do you mean SFB? It wouldn't surprise me to see both SFB and PIE added.

Pratt & Whitney has some sort of overhaul or testing facility there. I believe the 74 is related to that.

They will for a little while longer. Then Big Sky wil probably start flying to BOS. I am not sure if anyone else has applied to fly this route.

According to Flightaware, Commutair has been operating out of PBG (the Air Base) and the new terminal for a few weeks now. I haven't seen any flights out of PLB (Clinton County) fora few weeks.

Let's hope so. If your statement proves to be accurate, look for daily PBG-FLL flights (Maybe even double daily flights like BLI-LAS)

Well, finally border connection to FLL. I was there 2 weeks ago and got a chance to see the new terminal. Looks good. I wouldn't be surprised to see it go daily pretty soon. By the way, from what I hear, the Montreal media has really been pumping the flight as well. At 174.00 USD per person, it is a great bargain for a Canadian family of 4. Will be worth the drive down. Let's see how CBP handle the increase of cars though.

Could it be that one of the reasons B6 went BTV-MCO was in anticipation of this announcement. Maybe they figure the Canadian bleed over will go to G4. I still think B6 could have used PBG as a compliment to BTV. Well time will tell the success.

Bonne chance Allegiant et Bienvenue a Plattsburgh!

The Canadian media had an article this weekend about JetBlue dropping BTV fares to match Allegiant.

The article also provided this tidbit about Allegiant at PBG:
Plattsburgh International Airport has emerged as the best of 12 markets for Allegiant's Fort Lauderdale line, with more than half of bookings coming from Montrealers, Squyres said.

"It's been a tremendous response." said Squyres, who refused to reveal actual booking numbers. "In the first 24 hours, we have been overwhelmed with reservations. The data show that the majority of customers are from Montreal."

I am not surprised. The question is how will AC and Montreal Airports (ADM) react. I knew B6 would start to feel the heat. Could B6 react with an entry into the market as well? I don't think B6 is that stupid to just sit and let it out or are they. B6 might have to take some advise from NW. B6 announces FLL-Ponce, NK is right on top of it. B6 announces BUF/RDU-FLL, WN is right on top of it. Now, G4 starting PBG-FLL. Hmmmm!

BTW, just for sh*ts and giggles:

For travel Nov 27 to Dec 04 (US Thanksgiving weekend let's say) flight only:

PBG - FLL 79.00 + 79.00 rtn = 174.30 inc taxes Non-stop. Perfect timing for border and hotel check out
PBG dept 18:00 arrive FLL 21:20
FLL dept 13:55 arrive PBG 17:25

BTV - FLL 99.00 + 99.00 rtn = 239.60 inc taxes connects in NY. Long travel day.
PBG dept 16:25 arrive FLL 23:10
FLL dept 12:00 arrive PBG 18:10

YUL - FLL 147.12 + 281.98 rtn = 543.35 USD inc taxes Non-stop. Need to account for CBP at YUL. no advance seats options saves 19.00 USD
YUL dept 08:45 arrive FLL 12:20
FLL dept 13:10 arrive YUL 16:34

Again, sorry guys, but look at the difference. If a family of 4 is travelling, the best option seems to to drive to PBG. Of course, with only 2 fligths a week, that limits the family. G4 might have to increase that!
