Sydney Airport - Smoking Room

Sun Sep 09, 2007 8:19 am

Does Sydney Airport still have the smoking room by the United gates? I thought I had heard they had closed it down.

Thanks

The smoking rooms have been closed down. I don't know why though.

I smoke but that smoking room was truely disgusting - it just stank. I could only ever stay in there for a couple of puffs or I would be sick - especially if an Asian flight was about to depart and people would be in there puffing away like there was no tomorrow. I have no idea why it closed.

Had something to do with the new smoking laws that came through on JUL 1. The new laws forbid an indoor area as a smoking area even if sep by a door from a non smoking area.

Interesting, as they only just renovated the smoking room on the Qantas/OW side.

Do what I did a year ago, quit smoking. It'll be the best decision you ever make in life! You'll feel better and live longer.
