I remember flying in "Mid-Class" up in the nose of Virgin's 747-200 "The Spirit of Sir Freddie". It was such a cool thing to be up in the nose and not in first class. As I recall, the services were very nice. My LCD
screen in the seat wasn't working, so they gave me a little Hi-8 Video deck with LCD
monitor, and I had a selection of movies to choose from.
We also had to make an emergency landing in Bermuda on our way to MCO
because we didn't have enough fuel due to heavy head-winds. They wouldn't let us off the plane while we were refueling, but they opened up the door, everyone in "Mid-Class" got to go look out the door and take a breath of fresh air. Very nice.
Somehow, "Mid-Class" just sounds a bit nicer than "Premium Economy".
